Finished Hitchhiking

I just finished The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, an omnibus edition that includes the following five books and one short story:

• The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
• The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
• Life, the Universe and Everything
• So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
• “Young Zaphod Plays It Safe”
• Mostly Harmless

When I began reading, the series was fun, fresh, and different, which kept me reading. Slowly, though, the parts of the books that were fun and fresh started to become a bit routine and a little old. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy them; I did. I just don’t feel the overwhelming need to run right out and start The Salmon of Doubt any time soon.
