Crowing for the iTunes Music Store

Cowed a bit by the RIAA’s threats and recent legal action, last night I purchased and downloaded my first song from Apple’s iTunes Music Store: Sheryl Crow’s cover of Bob Dylan’s “Mississippi.” Her delightful, up-tempo reworking of the best track on “Love and Theft” (IMHO) is hardly recognizable as the same song.

I had a little trouble downloading my second and third songs, Nanci Griffith’s version of “Boots of Spanish Leather” (another Dylan cover, coincidentally) and Johnny Cash’s “One Piece at a Time,” but otherwise the experience was quite satisfying and I would recommend it to all Mac users (and perhaps quite soon for Windows users too).
