Slow Book … Arriving?

Almost a full year ago, I commented on the delayed release of Dylan’s much-anticpated Chronicles, Volume I (at the time of my original post, the book was already a couple years late). At that time, Amazon’s best guess at a release date was January 5, 2005. Now, it looks like the skimpy book will actually be ready by October 12 of this year.

Simon & Schuster is now hyping it as “extraordinary, revealing, and surprising … a beautifully written, singular acheivement,” but the numerous delays make this belated promise a little doubtful. I’m no longer sure how much I want to buy a 300-page book (about 100 pages longer than proposed!) that took so long to write. Perhaps I’ll look for it at the library.
